| Partly as a leaving present from my old job, and partly as a birthday present from mum & dad I got an underwater housing for my digital camera (an ixus 400) last week! Obviously I was very, very excited, and after taking the empty housing in to the pool to check for leaks last wednesday I took the camera and housing on a seasearch trip to Lyme Bay this weekend. We had a fantastic time surveying maerl beds and sawtooth ledges - and more importantly I got to try and take pictures of lots of different critters. As might be expected heaps of them were out of focus or otherwise not very good (including all the scallops, irritatingly because they were really pretty). But here are a few of the better efforts... http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/gallery/Lymebay |

| Ellie, The photos are very good especially for your first time. Are you using a strobe or your torch ? ![]() |

| Thanks Dave. I don't have a strobe. Some were just using the camera's flash, and for some I used my torch too - holding it pointing from a different angle. Hard to tell what worked best really - holding the torch with one hand while taking the pic with the other hand was pretty difficult so those ones tended to be more shaky. Quote:
