| Photography Competition Nothing too sophisticated, best Images added to the gallery from the previous month in each section with the highest votes get a little prize. All Images added immediately get entered. SIMPLE First competition mid April. Probably need to have some rules, but common sense will prevail (hopefully)! | Travel Dive in conjunction with YorkShire Divers will be running it’s first photography competition for members who use the service. The competition will feature photographs in the following categories:
The competition The competition will select the five top entries based on votes on the gallery for a final vote on the forum for 1st , 2nd and 3rd places in each section by running a poll. Winners for each section will get publicised in the articles section of the site with their work, and other Diving Network sites (300,000 vistors/month across the sites will know you and your work). It is intended to attract sponsorship for prizes which is dependent on the level of interest. The entrants for the final draw will be taken from photo votes up till the 14th of the month starting this month with a poll on the 15th of the month which everyone on the forum can vote in. Entry into competitions will be based on photos added from one month to the next, and not photos from the previous month. We will have an annual competition voting on the winners of each month for something substantial in terms of prizes. Sponsoring the UW Photography Competition Obviously we like to make the competition as prestigious as we can but for forum members ownly, by providing prizes which can help drive divers to provide their best content. This is not intended to over commercialise the competition but to provide a certain level of interest for divers to provide their best work. If companies are interested in sponsoring this competition then please contact us at advertising@diving-network.com, or pm the admins Last edited by Alan : 20-03-06 at 05:42 PM. |

| Since some photos are not all in the right sections could forum members who have updated the photos in the Image Gallery since the last competition please submit their entries by pming me the link to their photos. The link can be accessed by selecting the photo and clicking the link generator button. Winners get unrestricted usage of the Image Gallery for each section or a free film. Many thanks, Alan |

| Sorry Alan some queries here.... I know I've probably posted stuff in the wrong places but I wasnt sure where it had to go. Photos taken of sponges and non animals but not on reefs, dont fit in reefs and dont fit in little critters yet they come under small flora and fauna. I seem to have quite a few of these and I didnt really know where to put them. Also what happens if I have several with exactly the same rating? |

| Due to the complexity of the categories, I think we should keep it simple. If you are unsure of the photos then just send me the link and we can work around this. The photos will be put to the vote by forum members anyway, so send more than one of each type. We are working on a more rigorous and automated approach, but it takes time. Apologies for this but is a complex problem which the developers will have to solve. Please pm the links and I wil do my best to get the most appropriate listing for the final vote. Alan |
