| If I am not using my camera for any length of time ie months all I do is take the o ring out of the camera and leave it in the case seperatley so that is is not being permanently stretched in a particular way. Other than that I grease the ring when i am setting the camera up for the days diving in a dry protected environment and then it gets shut and doesnt get opened again until I have finished all dives. I cringe when I see people flipping camera cases open and shut on sandy beaches and wet boats. Dont use too much grease otherwise you will be actually be preventing the seal rather than making it a good one. It should just look wet all over and no more. I'm sure everyone has there own routines and will offer other suggestions |

| When we did our PADI photography speciality 3 weeks ago the instructor was horrified to see me grease every single time.... so apparently as above, when it looks dry - the instructor greased hers only every few weeks or so.... but, guess it must depend on housing type too surely??? Hope it helps ![]() |

| I go with tripplefin on this one all the way. I use one of those zip lock plastic bags where I put a bit of grease in ( about the size of a pea ) and spread it in the bag. Then when I have cleaned the o-ring, I put it in the bag, roling the bag lightly in my hands. JD. That bit of grease will last for about 20 aplications, as you donīt get 90% of the stuff on your fingers. HTH Michael
