Thanks Paul, I've already got latest firmware loaded (& double checked) but still get battery status issue. It's a pain, but I still like the camera and don't regret the choice.

Now if I could only find one of those remote controls that freezes the real world like that kid had on telly when I was a nipper, I could get fish to stay still and look at the lense

Dave.

That's a shame as it seems one of the only minus points for that camera.

They are pesky little sods, that's why I think Nudis are such popular subjects!

Quite so. Olympus should have sacrificed size a bit and put 4 batteries in it I reckon, but hey ho you can't have everything...

You can say that again. I always wondered why so many dive mags have coral/sponge/anenome photos in... I wonder no more!

Think I have found the book you mention - underwater-bookshop, surprisingly couldn't find it on Amazon, instead found a really useful site, with loads of great looking books!

I got one.. its FANTASTIC! much better than my mju500.
Latest piccys on my web site (Tenerife June 2006) Andy Quayle homepage
I used a 1Gig card type H (high speed) which is about 30% quicker than the normal type M card. Batteries lasted 2 dives no problems - took 75 photos on one dive (8 left!)

Rechargeables? What make model please? How many shots did you take per dive?

Cheers,
Dave.

That's the one, and also where I bought it from. Good service.
