Which film should I use?

I have gotten one of those high quality underwater cameras from Lidl - you know the £5 ones.

Anyway, I need to put some film in it. I did look, but couldn't find a place for the CF card

So, bearing in mind the professional quality of the equipment, the built in flash that runs off 1 AA battery and the fact that I am in UK waters, what sort of film should I put in it. Oh, the positive side is that I need to be shallow as the housing is only rated to 15m.

Needless to say, I don't expect to produce a masterful array of aquatic scenes. Just a few photos that you can actually recognise things so I can show friends and family what's in the water would be nice.

So, what ISO, or ASA or whatever it is called these days, and anything else I need to ask for.

Thanks

If its nice and bright... then 100, if its a bit dull then 200 and 400 if a bit more dull.... sorry to be so unscientific, without knowing how the strobe preforms then...

remember that there will be a minimium focusing distance i.e. if you get too the subject it will be out of focus!

Cheers
Neil

Strobe! nothing so professional as that. No, a built in flash in a camera that looks like I was built as cheaply as feasible. Waay to cheap to be called a strobe.

So I need some 400 then?

Now it's getting complicated - I knew there was a reason I didn't do underwater photography

give it a go... you can get film for next to nowt at the moment... developing is a different matter....

Just remember that the flash/strobe will cause backscatter as it fixed in place, you will have an odd snow fall effect!!

You could stick some greaseproof or thin semi-transparent stuff (!) over the strobe to help difuse the light... will help reduce back scatter, but will reduce effectiveness....

Nah mate, I just read your reply to the question about rust in a tank. Me, I got as far as "If a tank rattles when you shake it, it's not good - Right?"

Next thing you will be talking about is depth of field, and I know rightly that there are no fields in the sea.

BTW, thanks for your help.
