| Hi Dave, You didn't state how much you would be willing to pay. I always recommend the Inon strobes due to their small size, angle of coverage and power. They take AA's instead of using a battery pack and are great little performers. There are a range of models that cen be fired by a hardwire connection and / or fibre optic, so always an option for whatever camera you use. Let me know if you want more info. Tim

Hi Tim, thanks for the advice. Cost wise, well, it's going to be a birthday present, so I suppose I should say that cost isn't an issue (my bank might tell me otherwise!) but somewhere in the region of 250-350? My girlfriend used to have a MMII-Ex with a YS60TTL strobe until some kind soul bought her the digital for her birthday last year. Unfortunately the strobe isn't compatible with the YS60, hence looking for a replacement. I guess I'd be looking for something similar. preferably one which connects direct to the housing ( I believe there is a connector on top of the PT-027 housing) Also, as she still has the tray/arm from the MMIIEx/YS60 setup, is the strobe fitted those, that would be a help.

| OK, I can't remember what kind of fitting is on the PT-27 but my inons are connected to ULCS arms which used to connect to a ULCS tray which was screwed at the base of the housing. You can then easily run a fibre optic to the front of the flash often attached to the diffuser plate if your camera has one. I imagine this is the sort of set-up you may need for your housing. Give Steve a call at Ocean Optics - Underwater photography equipment - London and he'll take you through everything you need to know. New Inons are a little more than £250 tho and the tray and arms add that little bit more.

| I have a 7070 in a PT27 housing and use a YS60TTL S connected directly to a modified connector on the housing. The stobe connector you get with the PT 27 is a bespoke olympus one and will only work with olympus housed strobes. You mentioned that you have a MMII with YS60. If you still have this then all that is required is the oly sea and sea TTL convertor and bulkhead from a guy in germany, install this in the PT27 housing and you will be able to use your YS60 in full Ttl mode. Cost about 125 euros. Regards |

| Ingmire - you're a buffoon! Sorry Dave I didn't read your 2nd post properly. Dave is right, Heinrich's TTL adapter is a great little gadget and will allow you to use your S&S YS60 with your 7070. I used one for my 5050 and it gave excellent TTL. Be ready for the shock of the price of a cable tho. In fact, this gadget is so good that Subtronic (produce top quality, very expensive strobes) are using his circuitry in some of their strobes to give TTL with DSLR's. Now, Inon also do a little strobe TTL doohickey which may give similar results - Inon TTL slave adaptors - not sure if it will work with your strobe or how much but might be worth investigating. Cheers, Tim
