| The ratings are mainly due to the resistance of the buttons. It is very unlikely/unlucky if it would leak, the resitance of the springs may not cope and you may find your buttons stick in if you try to use them. I took my Fuji 40m housing to 46m without any problem.

| My missus took her Sony T3 on a dive with me to 65m. The housing is only rated to 40m. It didn't leak or implode however the buttons all depressed and the camera wouldn't function during the dive until we came shallower which is a shame as the wreck was really nice! The camera survived unharmed, however that is not to say we'd try it again! If your buddy is on 27% I would say you'd likely be OK as presumably they will be sticking well within their MOD?. ...but if it breaks it I take no responsibility whatsoever! I do know of one chap who when realizing he was about to break the depth rating of his camera, fired up a blob and tied his camera to the line before carrying on down and then retrieved it on the way back up. Perhaps not the ideal solution for a wreck dive however always one to bear in mind should the need arise. (Of course that would never happen as you've planned the dive and dived the plan right? Cheers! Dave |

| Wp-dc40 I've had that housing down to 55 meters and it was fine. A guy on the boat said his had been down to 100 so I dont think you'll have any problems!

| Well I cant take responsibility for this as it is my other halves camera, the buttons work fine at 65m on a fairly regular basis, we have a DC70 as well and that is exactly the same. She has changed the depth rating As others have said the buttons will get depressed (?) by the presure a long time before the camera implodes. However should yours implode I will feel no guilt from writing this ![]()
