Underwater Video Lights

Having got the underwater photography bug, I decided to invest in a combined torch / video light a Kowalski 1250 speed, with video head, however I am extremly disapointed with the results, the 100degree beam gives very little light, so it's back to the spot.
Can anyone recommend a decent video light, not to expensive, as having paid for the Kowalski (which has to be said is an awsome torch in spot mode) the coffers are a bit empty. I know some people who have made their own, using 50W 12v spotlight reflectors, but cannot find anywhere to purchase the light housing, battery housing not a problem. Your comments / advice would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks

Keep your eye on ebay.

I use a greenforce HID 100 with video head for my video, it is great at night or deep dark dives, but crap in bright shallow dives. Using a camera that has a manual white balance or putting filters on work best in bright area.

i also use the 1250 and a 620 combined and i think that the light it gives off is ok. It is good in low light situations and at night but is not as good in brighter lighting conditions. when i feel it is too light for using them i just use my filters.

video lights

I use Light & Motion elite heads (halogen). Great for dark stuff. naff for shallow, just use manual white balance. They are light weight, but not on the wallet.

If its for Photography and not Videoigraphy, I would have thought a good strobe would be better, I am sure someone better qualified than me will come along and advise better.

TeddyDiver saw the sea in a book once
from DEV Düsseldorf - Licht und Energie you will find about everything for video lights. You need two heads min 50w+35w with halogens. The angle at least 90degrees. Anything less gives you hotspot and makes the result worse than without any lights. HID isn't an option with low budget...
