My Oly 5060 went bang :(

Well not "bang" as such. More of a pffft. And smoke came out.

So what to do?

My underwater camera life is pretty much as follows:

- Happy snapper with an MX10 and strobe.
- Flogged MX10's and bought an Oly5060 and housing
- Flooded housing in Wraysbury (little plastic knob that holds the port on broke off)
- Camera still worked
- Bought another housing
- 10 dives later I broke camera on dry land.

Now to be honest the 5060 has done me proud. I quite like taking little video clips, and I've got some great photos out of it. I'm not too fussed about the resolution as it prints well up to A4 size and I don't really need to go any bigger.

I'm thinking about getting another 5060 on ebay, but is there anything I'm missing?

What do you think YD?

Janos

Might be worth sending it back to Olympus. Mine started playing up and they fixed it for free, gave me a new 6 months warranty and this was despite the fact it was over 2 years old and well out of warranty.

Olympus gave me the same service on my 5050, repaired free of charge and a 6 month warranty...well worth trying Olympus before you look to buy a replacement.
