Took my new toy (oly 5050z/Pt-015) for a swim yesterday at Branscombe in Devon. Only 9 mtrs but the scarest dive I have done , there was a bit of swell so I was scared of being trashed getting in and out, scared of flooding it, scared of breaking it, scared of loosing it and just dam scared. The vis was about 3-4 mtrs and with the surge it was like taking pics in a washing machine. Took 56 pics of which 15 are worth keeping.

Dead right - just having a camera in your hands makes everything that much harder !!!

Nice pic by the awy. I took the liberty of putting it thru PS7 - its more colorful but had to shrink it to get it on here. Also shows that you can get good UW pics looking better with a bit of software. Did you use a strobe

Look at that lovely vis. Did you manage to pick up that fin that somebody'd carelessly left lying about?

PS you're DOOOMED . You'll have to take the bloody thing everywhere with you now cos the one dive you don't have it on you is the one dive that you see a Great White emerging through a baitball of Barracuda. At Stoney.

Thanks for your comments and the edit, its a lot more tropical looking now!!  I have not got a strobe at present, bank manager won't allow, so I am going to try and use my HID torch but need a defuser for it first. Any ideas?

PS: here is a cropped and edited version that I managed to do myself (still very new at this game).

Cheers
Allan

And here's one of a whole squadron of Hammerheads we found ourselves surrounded by in South Africa (Protea Banks) in 2001. We'd been bounce-diving to about 38-40 metres and were coming back up - this pic was taken at the 12 metre safety stop. Could do with trying to reduce the amount of blue in it, but you get an idea of just how many Hammers there were - above, below, and to either side of us!

<font color='#0000FF'>Wrecktrekkie, do you mind me asking what you paid for your Pt-015 housing ? The last price guide I had from Ocean optics said £249, but in a recent magazine review it stated £149.
I've seen the Oly 5050z for £469 including 256Mb card and planning on getting that in the next few months
