| Imported post I have just come back from Sharm in Egypt and I took some pictures with a very cheap (£25) camera that I got just before I went. Sharm Pictures Also can you identify this fish? I can't find it in the book I have. ![]() Thanks Gareth |

| Imported post I think this might be a greasy grouper. Daz

| I recon it's a coral grouper, was it orange/red with spots? If the colour was too washed out did it at least have the spots?, I can see the stripes from the photo. John is right though, there are dozens you coulden't even tell if you had the book with you. James

| Imported post Looks familiar, hard to judge but looks black and white to me? Off hand I'd say it was Epinephelus inermis the Marbled Grouper. I'm pretty sure it's in Debelius's book (which is at home and I'm at work) and fairly sure we saw a couple of these in November |

| Imported post Greasy grouper http://www.fishbase.org/Photos....species or marbled grouper? http://www.fishbase.org/Photos....species It's impossible to say from the picture, surely? Both as just as common in the Red Sea.

| Imported post Also the Malabar grouper is very similar, but check this Link too |

| Imported post Thanks for your help. I thought it looked like the Malabar aswell but it is 1.2M typically which is too big and you can't make out the fin on its back from the photo. The Greasy is not in my book but appears to be the closest match. |

| Imported post Sorry to come in late on this one, but I reckon its a Peacock Grouper - Cephalopholis Argus.
