ok still researching for a good underwater camera that is simple to use . just talked to Alan James on Noel's recommendation to see if he could talk me through what to look for.

seems that shutter Response time is just as important as how many mega pixels it is and he is strongly recommending this one:-

Comments anyone? I hadnt realised that the flash gun was gonna be so expensive to be honest. Any comments on this camera, price, this flash gun etc.

What else should i be asking?

I'm going out to Hurghada in a couple of weeks time and will be writing a review on the DX-3000 so I'll give you first eyes-on once I get back.  I'll also post some of the pics to let you know the quality etc.
