Video using Ixus 850

Here are a couple of videos from a recent trip to the Red Sea. This is the first time I've used the camera (see previous Thread) and have been pleased with the results. The uncompressed footage is far better than the videos below and is fine on the T.V.

That's one thing you can say about the Canon IXUS range of cameras - Canon have really managed to nail down the video capabilities! I've got a little IXUS 65 which I take on most dives. Using a 4GB SD card, I can record over 40 mins worth of high resolution video (640 x 480 @ 30 fps) onto the card - almost as much as I'd get with a conventional MiniDV camera. What's more, the quality is as good - if not better - than your average sub £500 camcorder!

Another definate thumbs up for the IXUS cameras!

Here's a couple of video clips I captured using my IXUS 65...

And a photo of said same lobster taken with the IXUS 65...

Where did you get your 4gig card from? I've only seen 2s... what sort of money are we looking at...?

Forever running out of space (underwater!), before filtering out the crap... battery life isn't really a problem.. just memory.

Make sure you get a 'High Speed' card if you plan on using it for video.

Yep - that's about what I paid for mine. As ScubaDub said, make sure you get a high speed card, though - mine is 150x speed...
