As it happens Tim and I spent Saturday hunting around for a bag to carry his camera for a trip we're going on in a couple of weeks. We didn't go for anything camera specific but looked for bags designed specifically as hold luggage. Another requirement was that it should be able to take a laptop too.

He settled on an Antler bag that looks ideal for the job. Tim's Nikon D70, Nexus housing and strobes all fit in fine. He's now just after some foam to line it. Weight-wise it's quite light because it is canvas and because it is carry-on luggage that shouldn't be a problem as it's not being trusted to baggage handlers. Because it is made specifically as a flight bag its dimensions are perfect to take on a plane.
