| Price the stuff up new, if it's mint then 50-66% of the new price is probably about right.

| Well I've done a bit of ebay investigating and everything added up... Cost Ebay Nikon D100 £300 Nikon 18 - 35mm £60 Nikon 28 - 80mm £40 Nikon 50mm auto f/1.8 £75 Nikon 50mm Manual f/1.8 £10 Nikon 80 -200mm ED f/2.8 £200 Sigma 8mm fisheye £350 Nikon Pro Flash SB80 £100 Total £1,000 £1,135 So it's not MUCH of a saving (unless I can get it for £800-ish... Would be better for me then)

| depends what type of lenses they are. might be the same "size" but you can have different quallity e.g AFS AFD (VR) etc.. Look for how many shutter releases it had, (lot of cameras keep a count) and look round the hot shoe mount and bottom corners. these are a good indication of how well it's been treated. a keen amature will look after their stuff better than a pro or happy snapper. and offer less than what they want Do you get any cards with it? spare batterys? warranty left? |

| Yes, I have one and there a quality bit of kit. Also, if you get it, talk to me about the lenses, odds are i will have a copuple off you. ANdrew

| Well I've offered £800 but he's not acting very keen. He's apparently "had a lot of interest" and "is thinking of putting the price up from £1000 anyway" and "will have a think about it and let me know tomorrow what he's going to do but definitely won't be taking £800" Dunno if it's all just a bluff or not. We'll see! Thanks for all your help peeps! Will let you know if I end up with a surpless supply of lenses

| Realistically the only one you can use underwater is the 8mm and maybe the 50m f1.8. Spoken to your bank manager about the other stuff yet

Bank manager is being ok.... Ebay is being my friend at the moment and all my crap (by this I mean quality merchandise) is selling well. This has financed a nice (18 - 200mm VRII for land use) lens, two batteries, two 2GB memory cards....................... and it's heading towards financing the D80 camera body (SOMETIME SOON HOPEFULLY!!!!) I think there's going to have to be an interim underwater camera (am thinking Fuji F30 at the mo) though.

| Personally I would get a D80. It is up to date and the D100 is several years out of date hence the "good" price. If you're desperate to do underwater photography (and are new to photography) I would start with a cheap camera and housing first - we see some pretty good results here. Just my thoughts |
