Recommendations on digi video camera & u/w housing

hi All,

I know this is asking how long is a piece of string.....however.

Whats people views on a good HD digi video camera and u/w housing. looking for a HD 3chip camera - not sure whether to go HDD or CD for storage?

Would be looking for a housing thats depth rated to 90M + and have been looking at gates and amphibico.

Appreciate views on the latest and greatest and budget is between £750 - £1k for the camera and same to £1500 for the housing. Also where is best to buy ? airport or internet ?

Cheers

Go high definition but use tapes. Look at the FX7 or FX1, but expect to pay more than £1k for the camera (£1800 +), and about £3.5k for a good housing.

the advice i would give is make sure you allow in your budget for a spare camera, lighting, editing suite, extra battery. you could be looking at £6-7k for a high end set up. there are always second hand deals around. do your home work. i prefer to use a housing with manual controls as oppose to electronic. i have just returned from a trip to komodo where the liveaboards videographers electronics failed on day 2, leaving him up the creek.....
