Guildenburgh is not s#$t - photographic evidence

Tim Ingmire had a free weekend, so I said I'd join him. Earlier in the week we decided we'd head whichever direction the weather would permit. Right up until the last minute it looked like we were joining the rest up at the Farnes, but as I'm a southerner the inshore forecast didn't sound too good, and we decided not to risk the 4 hour journey in fear of getting blown out (and me not being able to keep my lunch down!!).

We didn't want to miss a dive, so Tim suggested Stoney - yawn. I suggested Guildenburgh as I'd only done it on a BSAC Nitrox course and had thought about going back. Quick search on here suggested it could be an utter waste of time, but still we thought a dive was better than none.

First dive was over 75 minutes in really good vis. Second dive was a shorter 45 minutes. The vis wasn't as clear second time, but that was our fault for kicking it up on dive 1 !!!

So to prove Guildy isn't that bad, I offer you photographic evidence:

We'd all prefer the sea, but when it gets rough places like Guildenburgh can be photographic gems.
Rob

Have you got some sort of device that you could point at the staff and make them less....gittish?

Diving there is better than no dive, but the staff make me stay away.

These pics must have been yesterday when the sun was shining ..... not quite so pretty today

It's called Gilden sludge because the bottom composition is very fine silt ... the slightest erroneous fin will kick it up .... so now consider it's a popular training location with lots of OW students where fin kicking is part of the buoyancy control and you have the answer.

Shame because there are a lot of fish in there.

Nice shots Robert. Amazing what a wide angle lens and strobe will give you....

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Great shots Rob, FWIW my favourite has to be the Pike portrait with sunlight filtering through behind!

Love the pictures, can I ask, has there been any post editing to get a better quality shot. What camera and setup were you using.
