| I once had to see if a mooring bouy was drifting at all over a period of time (in the days before accurate GPS) - the way I did it was to araldite the mount for a cheap telescopic site from a rifle to a convenient rock, then line the cross hairs up onto the bouy. Take the site away, and when I wanted to check the bouy, put the site back onto the mount. If the cross hairs still line up - the bouy hasn't moved (yes, this was in the Med - no tides!). Araldite a tripod mount onto a rock - so that you can remove and then reposition the camera? |
