Here ya go, Rob. For your information, both images were put through Photoshop and were noise reduced using Noiseware Professional. They were then scaled to 800 x 600 and sharpened before being saved to disk...

Original fish eye image...

Barrel distortion corrected version...

As you can see, the fish eye does blur a bit near the edges but a lot of the distortion you can see is being introduced by the barrel distortion correction in Paintshop Pro...

Yes, thought so, didn't think the Inon would be that soft. If you want an alternative, using Panotools works better. I have PSP at work and have tried to use its fisheye correction - I wasn't too impressed. Not sure if Panotools can work as a plug in for PSP, but it can from the free GIMP2. I use it to correct barrel distortion in CS2.

They are very good images,
Rob

Thanks for the feedback, Rob - I'll certainly give Panotools a whirl as the edge blurring is rather annoying. I've got Photoshop so I'll run it through that... thanks again.

Just Google Panotools, it's free, and then look through the Cameras Underwater webpage (can't remember if it's on the .co.uk or .info webpages) and it tells you how to do it all. And did I mention it was free......

How do you find the strobe it's what i'm thinking of getting?
I'm very pleased with the YS-110 although I did initially have a few headaches getting the damned thing to work with a Canon compact - it seems that the 'preflash' on Canon compact cameras seems to work a little differently from every other compact on the market and the YS-110 didn't like it. In the end, I had to use 'Exposure Lock' on the camera to force the camera to fire it's internal flash just once rather than twice which thankfully fixed the problem. It does get a bit of getting used to but the results speak for themselves - all in all, I'm very pleased.

Hope this helps!

Agree, Thursday is pretty much always a good day. You should have given me a shout Jason, work was cr@p and I could have been down.

Oh well, maybe the next time.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.
