Underwater video camera, housing and lights for deep and cold diving

What sort of a budget do I need and what set-up would you recommend? Cold UK waters down to 80m.

What do you want to use it for? Broadcast or home video? HD or Standard?

Home video setup in the region of 5k I would say for a full housing and light setup with standard, lots more for HD.

Broadcast, get a mortgage!!

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Have a look at Blue Fin housing and lighting. Fairly compact and easy to use with the monitor link. 4-5K all in. You will defo need a wide angle lens

For a cheep set up I use an Ikolite housing and Greenforce lighting with a digital camera. Around 2k. The Ikolite housings are 60m rated but I have had my one down to 76m and it worked fine. However my camera is worth about 50p so i wasn't going to be heart broken if it flooded.

I have used both and obviously you get what you pay for.

If your interested my mates got a Gates Housing with flat and dome ports and a Sony PD 170 for sale all in for £2800. The housing is worth that alone.
Either PM me for his details or let me know if it's too much.

Anyone else interested can contact me as well. I'll pass on his mobile number via PM.
