yes, sitting in the restaurant at Sipadan Mabul resort trying to MSN bethi and watching the rain. The only flood so far this trip is the torrent of water running off the roof.
I dipped out on the 5.30 am trip to Sipadan to do two dives before breakfast and i'll be doing the third moring dive at Mabul at 11:30 and then starting my cavern and intro cave course this afternoon.

So onto the painful topic of camera floods. Score to date is 3. Two of which (both 5050 s) were totally my fault, both the same thing, catching something across the o ring and both because i put my camera together in a hurry or in dim light and then didnt check it. it's so frustrating. My new rule is "if it's not ready leave the camera behind"

The third one was my 7070 which had a bit fall off the top. I have heard of other people have the same problems with this housing. So I am claiming this one to be not my fault.

I still love the 5050 and i have two camera and two housings which i got second hand from people on YD so i hope to still be using the trusty 5050 for a lot longer! I also have the wide angle lens I got from GLOC which i love even though it weighs a ton, i dropped it on my toes yesterday!

Pictures from this trip so far have been variable but i am pleased with my ghost pipefish. I know why they call it muck diving! The viz is worse than anglesey some days!

I love photography and feel naked without a camera in my hand so I just take the risk. I rinse the camera in the housing after every dive, usually taking it in the shower with me. and then every 4 days or so I give it a really good soak in hot water pressing all the buttons and then dry and take out the o rings and regrease and clean round the channel they sit in with a cotton bud, it's amazing how much crap collects there. You need the tiniest amount of gease.

whats the time in the uk now?
Jules
