An electronics supply company RS Components used to sell them - not sure if they still do.

I have an account with them so can check later and let you know the stock number.

Anyone who works in the building trade or chemical industry should be able to get them, they are put into industrial glove packs.

I have just been in my equipment store and found the sachets of silica gel I bought from RS when I was filming abroad.

The stock number is 601-041 - they are 10g packets and come in 50's

Here is the website: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=searchProducts&sear chTerm=601-041&x=0&y=0

(It is worth looking to see if they have an office in your country if overseas as they do have foreign outlets - I saw one in Malaysia when there.....)

All my local camera shops have a big box full of them - all different sizes. They give them away.

Heck,

I even get them in the pill containers my Doctor seems to think I need nowadays - no more breakfast, just pills - she has a lot to answer for. :0

Where could I get replacements?
Having left mine behind one time I dashed around Swanage trying to find a shoe shop. They found some for me quickly from just opened shoe boxes. I rejoined my buddy and proceeded to dive under the pier. Result, one flooded video camera. Flooded in 7m when the day before it had been on Aeolian Sky at 30m. I had not noticed that a small whisker of leather, presumably transferred from the shoe box with the silica jell, had got across the 'o' ring.

It was an expensive lesson, as my insurance would only replace it with a current model, not one that was compatible with my camera housing. I had to get a second hand camera from ebay.

Take Care
Joe
