| My approach is v simple - M setting; ISO Auto (400); flash off; manual white balance. Works for me - but as you'll see from researching other posts, I'm into shallow water / available light / fishes mainly

| Fairly similar, but I'll go ISO 800/1600, point camera up or use flash on macro.

| Yeah, I basically set "M" as ISO Auto 400, leave "Red camera" as ISO Auto 1600, both with flash suppressed, and swap between M and red as necessary - that way, least fiddling with ISO. The F31 has (I believe) an ISO Auto (800) setting which I'd love to have on my F30.

| I have an F31fd and found using it for the first time in the Red sea this Feb, alot of the pics were blue (set on U/W setting) I was advised to suppress the flash - did that but do I adjust the white balance if so to what? And what ISO setting - Automatic? Thanks Phil |

| Hi Phil, I too have just returned from Egypt after two weeks diving. I have an F30 and have put some of the pics up on Flickr if you want a look. Flickr: Photos from mandl1 Ciao Lyv |

| I've seen these they are very good - what settings are you using? |

| I get the best results from keeping in the Underwater setting/macro with internal flash and get quite close. I usually keep shallow so the end of a dive is good for it. Obviously it helps to have nice blue water, sun and few suspended particles. Am still getting unsatisfactory results when uk diving. More practice required and fiddling with settings. Next year in Egypt I shall probably try using a blue water filter for bits of video. Cheers Lyv |
