Used camcorder suggestions

I am looking for a cheapish small camcorder for filming with natural light in shallow water. Doesn't need to be broadcast quality, but I want something that will look ok on a normal size TV screen (although obviously the higher the picture quality the better). The camcorder needs to be as small as possible and have good low light performance
Availability of a housing is not a problem, as I have a very handy friend who is going to make me one.
I am looking at second hand, so any suggestions for 2-3 year old camcorders which may fit the bill? (or any real stinkers I should avoid!)
cheers
dave

Sanyo Xacti HD1/2..

Records upto 720p on SD cards and gives excellent results.

I have one in a Epoque housing, its one handed operation and is very light as well

Highly recommended

Dave,
You can get very good results out of most compacts nowadays, you'd then have the flexibility of video and stills for when you wanted.

I would say go for something in the Sony PC range of camcorders. Personally i have the PC-110 in a Gates housing. The good thing about buying something so outdated is they are very cheap and many owners barely used them at all so they present serious bargains. I now have three to ensure i can keep using my housing for years to come.

camcorders

hi
i thought would get a camcorder , 2nd hand
i made a bad mistake !i bought it through e-bay
it was described as "mint",when it came i had to get tapes for it ,which delayed it
a few days .
come too try it ,it doesn't record!
the previous owner swear's it was working when it left him?
so if i was too buy again ?it definately wouldn't be second hand...
you can now get a good new one at 129 pound
not worth the mither
martyn

Got all of mine through ebay without a problem. They all work perfectly but came in different conditions. One was well used but serviceable, one mint but not boxed and the other completely mint with box and all accessories. Careful buying should avoid problems.
