Video using my new setup

I had planned to spend a couple of dives at Capernwray to get used to the new camera and housing. Unfortunately Puddlediver hurt her ankle so couldn't make it. I went up anyway, got there early and asked the next people throught the gate if i could follow them, never met them before.
I only managed to get one dive in as they were doing a weight check dive ready for the season ahead. I will certainly need a few more to improve my skills. Trying to keep the camera completely still is difficult, but i think positioning myself better will help. It is also interseting to know what the camera will pick up. I did improve during the dive, so with a few more attempts I should be able to get some reasonable footage in Sharm. Youtube didn't downloaded in wide screen, im not sure how to alter it. The quality looks better on my compter and TV rather that youtube but I half expected that.
Any tips from more experienced people welcome, be gentle!!!

I managed to download in widescreen...

Panasonic NV-GS300 and a Seapro housing. The filter is very noticable above 5m hence the redish fishy bits.

No, i wish, The Doves. I may put some of our stuff on a video one day. Yeh the viz was pretty good, there must have been 7 divers in total so the viz should remain fairly good, until the weekend soup!!

Were you using auto white balance with the filter? Does the seapro housing allow wet attachment lenses? If so I would recommend a wide angle lens.

It doesn't allow wet attachment lenses, i was using auto white balance with the the filters. The seapro has an Optilite port which allows for underwater optical correction as far as i am aware this assists like a wide angle lense.

Again I am new to this and any settings that you could recommend for UK/abroad would be welcome.

Nick

Hi Nick,

Excellent result, I don't know about not keeping the camera still - compared to my efforts yours looks as steady as a rock. The resolution looks brill, there's a lot more detail to be seen on yours, gravel, fish, bubbles.

I would be rather pleased if it was mine.

Cheerio for now

lyv (she of the knackered ankle...... is improving though)........ REALLY wanna dive

I aint no pro either, If your camera will allow it manual white balance will help with the colours and eliminate need for the filters. Good buoyancy is the key to decent shots.
