Single Cable or Dual Cable

Hi,

I'm looking to get my Canon 40d kitted out for underwater use and although I'm only planning to get one strobe I was wondering if I should get a dual strobe cable or 2 single cables, this would be in terms of a back up cable.

Can you use a dual cable with a single strobe or do you actually need two strobes.

This would be Ikelite cable for Inon strobe.

Thanks

John.

John,
The ikelite dual cord comes with plastic caps that go over the connectors. Ikelite don't suggest using these underwater, so you have to attach both ends to something like a strobe. Get a single cord and if you get a second strobe then get a dual one. There are three extra failure points in the dual cord compared with the single.

The second cord as a back-up is a really fine plan - they can and do wear and fail!
