Not at all. But if you constantly dive with any camera thinking you will never get a flood then that's when the problems start.

My Ikelite housed D80 has done nearly 70 dives now and it's still bomb-proof - I have every faith in it. My first Olympus compact did 11 until it flooded.

Through a succession, since the late 1970s, of still cameras (Nik III, V) and still digital housings (el cheapo Olympus and Fuji) and video housings (Sony, L&M and Amphibico) I've never suffered anyhing worse than a tiny drip in one Olympus housing (dealt with by adding a tissue for good measure!) despite (or maybe because of) less than scrupulous maintenance. BUT I agree with earlier comments - I ALWAYS expect leakage and keep an eye for/am prepared to respond to it. Which, I guess, is what we're all saying.

My Ikelite has done hundreds of dives from 3m to 77m and has had no issues.

I'm not 100% sure so I wont make an uneducated guess!

I understand that the reason why a lot of people do not like the Huy's is because they do not use spring loaded latches (and because they is little support in the UK).

You're right, very little support for Hugy in the UK, having said that, Steve at Ocean Optics has always made the time to explain things to me even though he knows I wont be buying ports etc from him. The Allen key system is fantastic for me, being a bit of a biff I know there is no way I could ever manage to unlatch the housing during a dive!!

An external viewing of the many O rings would not show this up but it is still in effect cause by user error.
Again, the person I know with the floods is meticulous about cleaning the kit properly. It was I'm afraid definite housing / port failure on 2 out of 3, and probably the 3rd occasion too, rather than human error
