My friend Erik actually got Olympus to admit it was a fault and got a new camera AND housing - new and improved. That was in 2003 so I should think that the problem is fixed now...

Hmm, do you know how he managed this? Might be worthwhile trying to get something back - mind you I've sent it back for repair now.

Mind you, the camera wasn't damaged at all, and it's hopefully not going to be expensive to fix the housing (for not expensive, this is compared to normal uw-photo costs, £40-50 I've been told).

Chill Jules, I've had misting up due to moisture content inside the housing, nowt to do with any leaks. But I'd advice putting several silaca gel bags in the housing, that way if you do get a leak you'll have extra time to do something about it. Now I make sure I assemble my camera and housing in as dry an atmosphere as I can find and prep is long before the dive so the silica has time to work.

Question misty eyed....

Jules,

In the Farnes this spring my camera missed up on a couple of occasions. I think it was due to the warm moist air at the farnes and the cold water causing condensation on the inside of the case. I too have put a silica gel sachet in my case for future dives. Does anyone on here know any good cheep sources for Silica Gel. I don't want to go to a local camera shop to spend a small fortune on something which might cost pennies elsewhere?

Blimey John, which way did you go mate, Abbs is literally just over the border, about 10 minutes to be precise.

Great place though, one of my favourite haunts..

Of course I like

But that last one... wouldn't it be better if it was cropped a bit, with the pic being more a face-pic? If able?
