Reducing picture size

Hi All
Help please.
I'm very new to underwater piccy taking and tried to upload some pics onto here, but they where rejected for being to big. So I tried to zip them and send them, which didn't work either. So how do I reduce the pics down to a size where I can upload them? And (perhaps I should leave this question to after I have uploaded them) but is there any software I can use to take out the white flecky bits?(and is this called back scatter?). I have installed on my puter Olympus Camedia and Corel Draw.
Thanks in advance
Stuart

Help is at hand...

Stu
look at the thread i just bumped called "largest file size for posting here.." it tells you how some of us post pics.

In answer to the question you posed I dont know about Coral draw cos i use paint shop pro. I manipulate the image, crop, adjust contrast or whatever... then do "resize image" and adjust the percentage so that the width will be less that 700 pixels. Then do "save copy as..." (rather than "save as..."since you want to keep your full size, full pixels version for printing out )
Save it to photobucket (or similar web photohosting site).. then use the image tag to post it here...

Anyhow Kyrre's tutorial on the thread I mention above will help you a lot.

we all look forward to seeing your pics.

Actually I seem to remember that the new YD gallery limits size to 650 pixels wide so it might be better to save them that size..

Jules
