| I took a DS last time I was there in January. The pisstaking was remorseless on Day 1, Dive 1, until we got out. Then it was my turn... I've never overheated in the water and even with the DS I got a bit chilly on a short hang off the Thistlegorm. I saw people in shorties blue with cold and shivering. For the sake of the extra baggage, why suffer? And you'll have to re-rig your regs... Inner suit? A pair of Ron Hills and a HH lifa top - thermal undies to you. No inner suit. Any fool can be uncomfortable... Lucky git - were exactly are you going again? Last edited by Mdemon : 03-11-04 at 11:42 AM. Reason: Not giving any more ammo to Mr P... |

| Reckon a 5mm suit will be fine, BUT I would take a hood - it's nice and small and will add a considerable amount of overall warmth.

| DS gets my vote I am off to Dahab at the end of this month and the advice from Poseidon Divers was take your DS if you can but a wetsuit would be OK. It will be colder when you go as well. Enjoy yourself.

| I was in Dahab in January. I used a dry suit and was very happy, never too hot. Well, you are hot before you enter the water, but this is a small price for the comfort in the end of a long dive I think. Regards Alex
