| Auto-dumps... OK, Having finally got fed up of the slow rate that my Apeks low profile auto-dump lets the air out of my suit, I've just purchased a Si-tek valve... Now, I know that I don't like the Apeks valve, but I don't want to deliberately break it. So: Does anybody have any tips for removing said slow-dump valve? Also, any tips for fitting the new auto-dump, or is it as straight-forward as it looks? Thanks Andrew |

| Replaced the LP Apeks one with an older HP Apeks one and never looked back. LP ones crap- so slow. Anyway- IIRC it was very straightforward and took about 2 mins- unscrew old one and lob new one in and tighten.

| Make sure you do tighten it up properly, especially if you have a neoprene or compressed neoprene suit. I fitted a new dump to a new suit, and didn't tighten it sufficiently. At about 50m there was sufficient compression of the compressed neoprene, that the suit started flooding.

| I'm getting a new suit soon which will have the "new" Apeks LP auto dump. When I queried the dump rate of this, I was told that the "old" model of LP valve didn't dump that quickly, however that had been sorted on the "new" model. Does anyone have any experience of the "old" and "new" models, has the problem been sorted? Or am I best off requesting that the old old Apeks auto dump (which has a higher profile) be fitted to start with. TIA Darren

| I got fed up with my low profile as well and changed back to the old high profile version. The LP's are rubbish. |

| Andrew as you know I broke my LP when I tried to remove it for a cleanup. Your LDS should have a special tool to help, but I believe that just pressing the front down good and hard before turning anti clockwise (to undo) is sufficient. Best of luck, nothing lost they are crap anyway. Matt |
