I don't much care for the newish DUI pockets. I think I'll get 5thD pockets fitted to my new drysuit when I decide what type to buy.

As for the original questions: definitley on the side & I carry much the same junk as Frogman plus a few other bits & pieces except I wear my depth timer on my wrist.

It was a last minute thing that I went. Ho hum. Our paths will cross. Not this weekend as I'm doing a VHF course (breaker 1-9 breaker 1-9 what's your 20? There's a smokey on your tail Rubber Duck). Have sobered up a bit now. And just noticed that Aquastuff pockets don't have drian eyelets so I'm going to have to get a couple put in.

Arse.

<update>
Problem solved. Stinking hot screwdriver, a bit of bravery with it so close to the drysuit and bingo! 6 nice neat drain holes.

Mmmmmm. Glue.

Laters,
Janos

PS - Postage costs - Royal mail will post a drysuit for a tenner (sent mine off to get fixed a coupole of days ago They'll try and sell you Special Delivery, but if you ask for parcel post and separate insurance it's about half the price and takes a day or two longer (presumably they just keep it in the post office for a couple of days before putting it on the same lorry.)

Leg Pockets on Drysuit

My drysuit has a large bellows pocket on the front of the thigh. It is not a whole lot of use really, as if i put anything bulky in there the velcro will not hold or i catch it on the wreck while ferreting and will either open the pocket or rip the suit! I can put my tables in there, but i want some more storage pockets as i dont fancy the christmas tree look.

I do need a new suit, but unless i have a considerable pay rise, this aint going to happen any time soon.

I was thinking about a DIY pocket, glued to the left thigh but on the outside of the leg, not the front.

Has anyone used a DIY pocket? Do they stay stuck over the seam in the suit leg, and deal with any flexing?

Or would you reccomend a pocket (such as the Narked@60 ones) to attach to the harness and bin the drysuit pocket idea?

I've just fitted a zipped pocket to my membrane suit from aquastuff.co.uk (Divers Warehouse in disguise). As long as you take your time the pocket sticks to your suit like shit to a blanket. I would get some Toluene too to make sure the suit is spotless before applying the glue.
