Question Doing buisness with Northern Diver

Thanks to all who replied to my post re Cortex/Vortex.

Next question: What's the best way to buy a ND suit?

Go Dive and Kent Diving both appear to offer suits for sale at prices below those quoted by ND themselves?

Do I wait for the next dive show and buy from the ND stand?

E-mailing and calling ND direct always seems to result in off-hand treatment!

Help!

I got my ND suit from Kent Diving, and very good service.

ND were not at this years London Dive Show (they had been at last years, i'm sure, ah i think) so no guarentee they will be at next years.

hi
i bought mine from go dive only because i went there from stoney ,i would go to the nearest to you because then you can try on different sizes if your in guildford then kent diving is the closest to you ,i have only had dealings with kd over the phone but they have always been helpful otherwise try your lds & see if they will price match
good luck

ND don't go to the 'diver' run shows, they go to the 'outdoor show' the week after LIDS. They don't sell at below RRP as they don't like to undermine their dealers.

Best to buy from a retailer. You can buy direct from the ND shop, and they sometimes have a few 'end of line' cheapies, but you will probably get a better deal through either go-dive or kent. ND seem to have some tie-up with Go-dive, as the ND staff all work on the Go-dive stand at LIDS, but to be honest I would still get it from Kent diving, as their service is MILES better than Go-dive. You'll find no complaints about kent on this site, but just do a search for Go-dive, and you'll find loads of comments, nearly all of which are bad.

cheers

Smile ND suits

If you look on their website, there is a "Special Drysuit Clearance Sale" on at the moment (has been on some time now) I got a ScubaPro Spitzbergen on there for £250 (seemed like a great price to me) and it's perfect.
Some of the descriptions are a bit vague, but have a look http://www.diveshop.co.uk/bargains/index.html and give them a call.

Not true, Northern Diver have always had a very big stand at the Dive shows, they bring a large unit with them. They were not at the Birmingham one, I was told they had fallen out with the organisers.

They were however there under the GoDive brand, even some of the ND staff were there.

Fiona

I know they used to have a large stand at the london/birmingham shows (LIDS/Dive 200X), but they didn't go to either this year. Their staff were, however, on the Go-dive stand in both cases. I bought a suit from them at LIDS on the Go-dive stand, and saw the same people a few weeks ago at Dive 2004 working on the Go-dive stand.

They did have their own big trailer style unit at the birmingham outdoor show (run by ordanance survey), in the 'dive' area. This was the week after LIDS this year. I understand you are correct, and they had fallen out with the organisers of the LIDS/Dive 200X shows. The bit about not selling direct at a discount was what one of the ladies on the ND stand told us at the outdoor show. We had a long chat as she was bored out of her mind. they had very few customers as it wasn't a show full of divers, but a sort of 'lifestyle' show. I only went to buy a new tent, and was surprised to find a dive section at all!

Cheers
