Mice like silicone rubber for some reason.

Some of the little sods ate the switch boot on my EE14 and I have gnaw marks on my mask.
Fortunately the mask doesn't leak, and I spooted the boot before it got wet.

We have a large shed, 24 feet long by 4 feet wide (it's built between our house and the next door neighbour's garage if you are wondering why such an odd shape) and we were having problems with mice in there eating my wife's seedlings. We locked the cat in there and when we opened the door some time later, a mouse ran out right in front of the cat and she didn't move. Some b****y hunter she is. We resorted to the old spring type traps using peanuts as a bait (the high tech ones failed to trip when the mice ate the bait!) and have so far had 8.

Fortunately, the only time the dive gear goes in there is when we wash it in the bath which I installed there when we refitted the bathroom.

The hood was beyond repair but you should have seen the mice !!!

Our cat also is adept at catching birds (caught 2 pigeons & 4 starlings in one day last summer) so I thought we'd due the bird population a favour & fitted her with a bell.

Result - The very next day the blackbird population of Berkshire is 2 down

Solution - Fit Bigger Bells

Result - Scratch a Pigeon

Don't know how the heck she still does it as I can hear her 3 gardens away.
My last female cat was like that, think she dragged it across the floor until the moment of pounce. Get a bigger bell, a MUCH BIGGER bell, one off a ship might do. Current cat - hopeless, couldnt catch a cold.

Matt

A lady at work used to have a cat which was a great hunter. One day it jumped on a bird in her garden - a buzzard! The vet's bills for the cat were substantial.

My cats find it difficult to catch a cold, which is lucky as there was a skunk in my back yard on Tuesday evening

Know the feeling! Although bringing a dead mouse into the house and hiding it amongst the magazines under the coffee table is a really good trick too, especially when you spend a whole week looking for where the awful smell is coming from yuck!
