| If you can wait until Sunday I can give you a report on an Otter Britannic. Picking mine up then. Gavin

Well, it is cheap stuff and it comes almost from the local gardening store, but it works fine and it's very solid. We tried to destroy one by hitting it with a hammer... we succeeded but we really had to hit it hard - http://www.stde.ch/en/faq.php |

| Gavin - the extreme is a neo, not membrane, so it'll be a bit different. Ian - my wife has one, and likes it a lot. Compared to an 03 I think it's a bit thicker neoprene and might give you a bit more of a buoyancy change. Going made-to-measure is worth it.

Thanks Tom, I've already ordered an Exotherm Arctic so I guess I really want to stick with neoprene, I don't like the look of the Otter TBH, too many "Otter" badges for my liking but I don't want to spend 3 months out the water waiting for a suit to be made. It's a pity they don't make them here, it took 72hrs for my MTM semi-dry and 72hrs for two suits to be made up (different shops). Ian

| I changed from membrane to Neo in Dec 04, got a Swedish 100% Waterproof, take a look: http://www.divernet.com/equipment/09...html#antarctic I also did'nt want to wait and no local dealer for O3 off the peg. I've not regretted the purchase for a minute, heck of a suit and used with a Zor base layer stayed warm in Jan (Falmouth) Cost around £600. Couple of people in our club now getting same who have had Otter in past. |

| I have the Otter Britannic which is a superb membrane and my mate has the extreme which also looks great and he swears by it. Otter make great suits backed up with equally good after sales service should you need it. If its just the too many badge thing that you don't like and you are having a MTM then just tell them that you don't want most or all of the badges and I'm sure they will oblige.

I've had a response from Otter telling me they'll take about 4 weeks to make me a suit, seems to me these companies could do with increasing their production capacity. If only I hadn't drunk so much beer and eaten so many pies I could have got away with an off the peg suit, I could probably slim before O3 can make me a suit. Ian
