New drysuit - Wellies or Socks?

Hi recently became a DM, i have all my own kit apart from drysuit. Looking to splash out on drysuit, i want an Otter Britanic but i have a problem. I have size 14 feet!
I have managed with a club drysuit up to now, but it wont do the job anymore. Pretty sure otter dont do boots that big so what are my options regarding having waterproof socks fitted, then wearing boots over the top? Not sure about the durability of socks, and will wearing boots compromise the flexabilty of my feet? As i usually frog kick.

Lots of questions. Thanks in advance.

James.

Have you asked them yet ? You can get DUI suits with neoprene sock type feet then you wear their rock boots over the top. Maybe you could ask Otter if they can do something simliar, I am sure they will have done something in the past for people with large feet.

DUI do have the socks, but if you go for socks, make sure they are a GOOD fit, I've just sent mine back to be re-socked because they were too big and it was really uncomfortable. Just think how annoying it is if you're normal socks ruck-up inside your shoe....now imagine it's thick lumpy neoprene.
The benefit of socks I would imagine, is that they should be relatively easy to manufacture, so you should be able to get something to fit, esp. if you go MTM. As Fiona says, have a chat to them and see what they can do.

I have used the sock types before with boots and my feet got really cold and I do not normally suffer cold feet. I think Northern Diver do size 14 boots maybe get a set put on afterwards?

I would talk to Otter first. I have big feet (size 12) but find that I need a couple of pairs of thick socks to fit into their size 12 boots.

They should have boots you can try on.

Otter do boots at least to a 13. One of our trainees this year had either size 13 or 14 feet. However, if you find that they're willing to do a neoprene sock(like the DUI turbosole), then let please post back to the forum. (or the DIR forum). You'll make several people very happy
