Unhappy Dry Suit User Manual

Hi

Anyone tell me where I can download a user manual for the Mares Isodry PCN? I appear to have "misplaced" mine and Mares have recently redesigned their website - and you can't download the manuals anymore...

A dry suit with a manual eh..

[Serious question] Why do you need a manual for a dry suit ?[/serious question]

Doesn't yours have like 2 legs where your legs go,two arms where your arms go and a bit to stick your head through? Ohh and a zip (which mine currently doesn't have) Other than the dumps what do you need a manual for?

Mine came with a "manual" (few sides of A4) that described pre-dive checks (does it leak!), care, storage, cleaning, zip treatment, etc. Some useful information for a first time owner.

Care/Storage - if not in use either hang upside down or roll from feet up to neck fold arms over, both cases zip open. For long term (why? ) storage dust seals (inside) with chalk or non-perfumed (Simple) talc. Try not to punture it! you'll know if you have, post dive.
Cleaning - assuming sea use, spray outside with clean water after a dive, every dive unless doing a weeks liveaboard, inside occasionally, allow to air dry, or use cat litter etc to dry inside. Dont use any solvents or cleaning products
Zip treatment, store open, re-lube with beeswax every dive trip or so. dont force it, examine teeth and material for damage, dont fold the zip against itself

Dump valve (if auto) on shoulder, dont try and remove it if its an Apex low profile without special tool, if/when it leaks replace with Apek high profile or Sci-Tek. Inflator valve, check it works, if not dis-assemble and clean, ditto decent shoulder dump. I have not dis-asssembled either of mine in the 2/3 yrs I've owned it, about 80 dives I guess, sea and fresh.

HTH
Matt

Cool

you would be amazed at the number of people who abuse their dry suit ie. dont fold it properly, dont look after the Zip. Chop their neck seal around with a set of hedge clippers (well thats what it looked like anyway) then say I think the valves are faulty...

see this for more advice on zip care

http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...ghlight=beaver

most important bit is, as matt said, don't bend the zip on itself
