Exclamation Heated waistcoat for the nesh

I was in my LDS this morning and hanging up was what I thought was a fleece waistcoat while I was having a look at it, Paul told me it was heated.

It has a couple of small batteries in it and works like underfloor heating, when your body cools down it kicks in just enough to up your core body temperature.

Sounded quite interesting

I've seen a few advertised but the ones I saw were around £450 (may have been the early ones though) which was a little much. Better off gettign a better undersuit at that price.

I know the EKPP run heating vests for the final stages of deco on their big exploration cave dives. But to be honest I imagine you'd need something warm after 6+ hours underwater. My favourite bit with that was they had an argon stage as well as the main one because their big descent/ascents within the cave ran them dry of gas

Some very cool video and such though

This one was hundred and something £'s but on sale for £99 and is nothing like the FaMi one with huge power pack.

was this in Airtek ??? I saw a black bodywarmer in there....

sounds like a good idea, dependant on the position of the batteries and the accusations of not being a man 'cos you're wearing an electric blanket

Yes it was and they were only small batteries at the back. Surely they wouldn't know.

Kathy not sure you can wear it under a wetsuit

There's an American company called Kremer Sports who make them very cheaply, $80 something like that. I'd thought about getting one for long dives, i get really cold when I stop swimming on deco.
