otter membrane suit, but which one??

I've finally decided that its about time that I fork out a silly amount of money for a membrane drysuit. I've looked at all the other M2M people and I've come to the conclusion that otter deserves my money (everyone on here raves about them), BUT which one do I have??? and do I cough out a little more for optional extras? such as knee pads, proper boots, upgraded zip etc...

Another thing, do I go visit Otter themselves or do I wait till the dive show at the NEC at the end of October? and does anyone know how long it usually takes them to make a M2M??

As always everyones help is appreciated.

I have had two membrane drysuits from Divers Warehouse and both the service and the suits are brill.

I first had an Otter Skin.......... excellent but got it pinched. Then I had a Britannic.........even more brill.

The extra bits you get for your money with the Britannic are definitely worth it. You get proper boots, front entry zip with protective cover, braces, cargo pockets, waist elastic. See their website for more info.

Time to make m2m can vary dependant upon how busy they are but I should allow for at least a month. They are very good though, if you need a suit to dive before its ready they will lend you one, they did for me anyway.

Their aftersales is good to. Nothing is too much trouble for them. If you happen to have force fins though, make sure you can get them on with the new boots, they seem to be rather broad with flared out bits around the edges and I had to get them to grind them off for me so I could use the fins.

After selling my much loved O3 MSF500tb on here (thanks NickB), I fully intended to get another one MTM, but one of my mates lured me over to the dark side and I bought an Otter Brittanic instead. Great suit (still getting used to membrane after 16 years of crushed and compressed neo suits). Took approx 4-5 weeks for MTM and came with some unexpected extras (thermal booties, Neo warm neck collar and a boot upgrade to heavy duty heeled). Oh and the best bit was the invoice, John Snr knocked the MTM price off the cost of the drysuit so got MTM for £636. Great. Pricing an otter Skin with all the extras you get as standard on the Brittanic works out more so if you've got the cash get the Brittanic.
P.S. Otter will also adjust any mtm suit free of charge (excluding P&P) even if it was you who balls'd up the measurements. The measurement chart is pretty straight forward though, make sure someone gives you a hand and redo the measurements at least once. I did and mine fits nicely.

Take the voucher to the store now, I'm sure they will still knock it off it you tell them that you would rather not wait for the show. Also if you get it done now they probs won't be as busy as just after the show.

You've already made the right decision by going for an Otter, now just go the whole hog and get the Britannic. Its a brill suit backed up with excellent customer service should you ever need it

Only one thing, if you dive off RIBs, ask them to put the pockets on the sides, not over the knees. if they are on the knees (which is the standard config), its much harder to pull yourself into the boat.

Get measured up at the Dive show.
