Cuba - fantastic place, you'll have a great time. Take lots of snacky food and be prepared to go hungry some of the time. You'll most likely be sick of the sight of fried chicken by the time you come home

I've only dived the west of Cuba and in November - 5mm was fine on all dives (typically 35-45m). Gloves and hood may be an idea, take your own SMB (I didn't see another one the whole time I was there).

Take your own kit if possible as the hire kit I saw out there was really shabby - thanks to the US trade embargo the country is struggling and dive operations seem to survive on the kit that people leave behind because it's broken. I saw people buddy up because one had a working depth gauge and the other had a working contents gauge (yeah right).

I soooooo want to go back. Top place. Enjoy.

Hi Dave,

If you want a short impression what to expect there have a look at the YD Gallery. Chris and Liz went there a few year ago. If you have more questions they probably can answer them for you.
