Cressi lontra 3, comments please.

After looking at about a thousand million suits, I think I’ve finally settled on the Cressi Lontra 3, 7+5mm. Can anyone comment on this suit, thanks.

Been using the 5mm Lontra both in Tenerife (21-23C) and in Egypt +24C its a very good suit (bit overkill for Egypt) but fine for cooler climes. Well built, robust (dive school I use in Tenerife recons they are bullet-proof) warm and mine is very nearly a dry suit (have to pull the neck-seal to get water in to cool down).

HTH

Ditto for the 5mm Lontra. Excellent suit, and being Italian, it somehow seems to enhance the wearers body!! I have managed to pull the zip away from the neoprene on one of the ankles, but that's probably my cack-handedness rather than a design problem. Kept me nice and warm last November in Red Sea, especially on deeper dives.

A good buy.

Bob.

Im going to test dive one of these tonight did you get one? do you like it.

No point getting a dry suit if you only intend/have the chance to dive in the uk for 1 weekend a month but will dive abroad for all your holidays. Id rather spend out on a decent wetsuit well semi dry than say 500 quid for a drysuit and undersuit I really only need for 3 or 4 days a year.

lontra suit

I have been using one of these suits for the last 5 months and find it a very good suit done over 100 dives in it.some of them with the shorty on as well.
Keeps the water out fairly well. You will find however that it is best to use a wax on the rear zip as this makes for doing it up easier.Be careful aswell when pulling up your arms and legs around the zip area .

Funny old thing that, just torn the zip from the neoprene on my right leg.

My 5mm lontra has done over 250 dives over nearly 3 years - and it's still going strong !!!

The missus uses the lontra 2 and loves it!

Dived it down to 6 degrees and was fine, (only 20m for ~35mins @ Vobster). Must have been fine she went back in again!

Her only complaint is that its hard to get off and on now, this I believe is due to 'suit shrinkage' itself due to beer consumption and my cooking.

Despite loving it however, she is getting a drysuit, (doesn't my credit card know it!) to compensate for lost buoyancy on deeper dives.

If it fits its a great suit, as ever though a poorly fitting suit may as well be made by me in my shed for all the good it'll do you

Well spent 2.5 hours in one at the LDS on Monday testing god knows how many pairs of fins! The suit was fine really comfy, good fit, deffinately getting one in the near future. As for the fins still not sure but going back next week to test the shortlist!
