Waterproof (the make) wetsuits

Hi all,

Hope you all had a good new year.

Have a quick question, anybody had any experience with the brand Waterproof wetsuits?
http://www.cpspartnership.co.uk/waterproof/home.html

I tried 1 and felt very comfortable in them, I have not been able to find many reviews (only 2 in fact).

I am taken by the 7mm Aries, possibly with a 5mm overvest (I hate the cold!)

Anybody have them? What do you reckon? Worth the money? (179+89 for the steamer and vest is the best price I have found so far).

Regards

Darren

If you feel the cold badly, would'nt you prefer a Semi Dry instead??, from another post today, I saw that phil from this site is doing a brill deal on a 6.5mm semi dry, looks a bargain at £130 , http://www.divingniknaks.com/products.php?cat=62

Not the wetsuit,
but a couple of people I know with a 'Waterproof' drysuit, swear by them,I've had a close look & they decent to me.

(Personally I use the Oceanic shadow 3 piece, ideal to swap & change for different climates etc)

Is that the Oceanic 5mm system? I've been looking at that aswell, I do like the flexibility as you say for the different climates and it works out cheaper than the 2 for the 'waterproof' wetsuit. 199 is the cheapest so far for the Titanium.

I have both a Waterproof Drysuit and a Waterproof wetsuit....and am pleased with both.

The drysuit says 100% Waterproof on the back.....it is a bold claim....and to date it has been!!

I also have one of the 5mm Lynx wetsuits. The way they are constructed means you can use them like a semi dry. (John Bantin (BJ on here) did a review in Diver magazine which I meant to query with him but never got round to (unless my mind is playing tricks on me)....Anyway he complained that the legs and arms were too long!!! They are meant to be slightly folded back under (like a neoprene neck seal) which makes the suit semi dry and very good at it too.

I feel the cold but the 5mm suit lasted me perfectly for a weeks Red Sea liveaboard in June....and day boat diving in Nov. (though I did put a thin undersuit on in Nov)

My only criticism is that there is a lot of re-inforcement on the knee...which is good if you kneel a lot but unneccessary if you don't. The first Lynx I had did have some problems with the stitching but was replaced without question.

Friends have used the multi layered effect successfully but I have never used the oversuits.

Sizing is a bit wonky in my opinion....I have an Extra Large Drysuit and a Medium Large wetsuit.

HTH

Thumbs up Yip like them

Hi Darren, I have a "Waterproof", wetsuit I've only used it on holiday but it is very comfortable and I'm really happy with it. It does have zips everywhere so getting in and out of it is quite easy. Not quite sure what the zip at the front of the neck is for though.

John.

IMHO a very warm and comfortable semi-dry.

Godive seem to be doing them for £179 + £10 carraige.

We have just purchased the 7mm and 5mm with seperate hoods. excellant suits, we have been in 3.5 degrees just before xmas, it was cold but not uncomfortable. i would recommend them, we have no complaints whatsoever regarding these suits. The price is the same where ever you go, i got in contact with the suppliers and this was confirmed. They look good too.
