Fourth Element - thickness

Since i'm thinking of doing more sea diving and with the dm training (so a lot of just sitting on platforms in puddles) this season i've been advised to get some proper thermals. I normally only wear either m&s thermals (top and leggins) and a pair of tight 3/4 length thin cycling bottoms and a helly hansen lifa top (again really thin) but have in puddles of later been getting a bit cold on my top half (recently in 4-7 degrees). I dive in a neoprene suit.

Having tried on the Artic range under my dry suit last night and found it to be too thick to get my dry suit on comfortably i wondered if the xerotherm range is actually much thinner than the artic range?

I know i'm still carrying too much xmas weight (about 3/4 stone over normal ) so my dry suit is a bit more of a pig to get on than usual but not usually as bad as with the artics last night......

The artic top fitted nicely (was bloody hot trying it on!) but the bottoms were a nightmare to get my dry suit over (2 broken nails!!!!!! )

Not really sure if i'd be better off getting the xerotherm depending on the thickness....

Any advise other than loose the extra weight would be welcome!

Wink

Alledgedly the Arctic range is twice the thickness of the normal range.

That said a few more DM sessions lugging tanks will see you right.....;-)

Yes the Normal Xerotherm is quite a bit thinner. I find mine slides around very well inside the drysuit, maybe your inner layer of the suit is the problem?

Lightbulb

You could always mix & match Mark powell on here is good you could get the xertherm top & the artic leggings ? if its only your top half getting cold that could solve the problem of shrinking drysuit sindrome
