works very well..
Thanks for that tip I will give it a try - my club have decreed that suits MUST be used for buoyancy (apparently having air in a suit and BC at the same time is too complicated for us newbies) and since they are the people teaching me I will do as I am told (that must be a first :-) ). I will see if putting a wrap of some kind over the suit helps because at the moment I am not always confident that I can stay at a stop without being fairly negative and finning up (so no deco diving) as when I am neutral I can't always get air out quick enough to stop a gradual ascent.
When my drysuit annoys me I just have to remember how cold I would be without it!
OK, I will let this thread get back to it's original topic

This is what worries me- if you don't choose your undersuit before sizing/buying your drysuit, does that mean there's a risk of it being too tight or too baggy?

Also, if you change to another undersuit (e.g. a thicker one) does that mean you have to buy a new drysuit?

I don't like the way some clubs or organisations force certain rules that may or may not be the best. Surely it's up to you how you dive and to work out what best works for you. Personally I found that using the wing for buoyancy and suit a touch is much much easier to control because you don't get floaty feet and have difficulty dumping fast enough as I did when diving the suit alone.

When I get a drysuit I intend on using my BC for buoyancy, and only putting a bit of air in the suit to take the squeeze off.

I know people say it's more hazardous having air in both the BC and the suit, but the amount needed to take the squeeze off is minimal and could be dumped easily enough.
