I remember my dad doing this. He used to squeeze two equal-sized lumps (pea-sized approx) onto a bit of wood and use a matchstick to mix the two together. Obviously, increase the size of the lumps accordingly! xxx

| When I repair suits I use : 1 teaspoon of glue to 8 drops of hardener I only mix a small amount each time so as not to waste it. Ref sticking the pockets on, as long as the area has been cleaned with a mild type of thinner there shouldn`t be any problems. Lay the suit down flat, stick pkt, put flat pce of wood over the pocket ( with a weight on it) and leave to dry. Hey presto = new pocket. Ps make sure you follow the instructions to the letter on the glue tin. Have fun. |

| You get the glue already in the correct amounts 1 little bottle of hardener for 1 tin of glue. Scale down accordingly - I found that 1/4 of a tin did one pocket (250ml tin) Dom

| Exact quantities aren't too critical, but as previously stated, the small bottle does the whole tin A couple of other points Use a cheap (read disposable) brush, much easier than trying to clean the glue off it Make up smallish quantities, the glue stays workable for 20 mins-1 hour depending on temp, humidity and % of hardener Dont use small yogurt pots to mix in- they melt! Put THIN coat of glue on pocket and suit, allow to dry, put on 2 more THIN coats, when touch dry press the pocket down well, using a small roller or similiar, leaving weights on overnight is not needed cheers dave www.drysuitrepair.co.uk www.eliossub.co.uk |
