Unusual question - replacement semi-dry neck seal

Just got a Mares Isotherm off ebay for a friend. It was £60 and virtually new, so I'm pretty pleased with myself

...BUT, the neck seal is just a little too big for her (she tried it before buying) and needs to be changed/altered. It's basically the same as a drysuit neoprene neck seal, but obviously doesn't have to be super-dry and I don't think it's worth paying £30+ to get it done professionally, so any suggestions as to where I can buy a neoprene neck seal? They seem strangely hard to come by. Any alternative suggestions to changing the whole thing?

Couldn't you cut a "v" dart or two out of the seal to make it narrower and glue and stitch back together?.

why not have a chat with your local dive shop ?
another option is to look on the back pages of dive mags as there are people who will repair suits etc.
if you feel confident about replacing a neck seal yourself, all you need is the correct size .... surely neck seals can be bought over the counter?

if you look at a neoprene drysuit seal, all hou need to do is carefilly cut a couple of v shapes out of it (one each side) carefully stitch it up and put a smear of aquasure over the seam. This is how they adjusted my drysuit seal.

Yep, then you glue and tape the seam on the side that doesn't go against the neck.

If you make a mess, you have lost nothing. Just pull it off and find a new seal just like you were planning to in the first place.

You could give somewhere like otter a call, I am sure they will be happy to sell you a neo neck seal for you to fit yourself.

Can't find any other suppliers listing them (lots of latex ones, not many neo).

Wouldn't bother with any local shops - Warwick Scuba send them to Stoney last time I asked, and Stoney usually have a 3-4 week wait for anything on drysuits!

Thanks for the link Dave. As for the rest, I agree, LDS is always the last option, though Stoney seems to be improving for service at least, if not prices.
