Xerotherm Trousers

I've always used my Weezle Extreme when diving, all year round, for the past 3ish years. At the Dive Show last year I got a Xerotherm Arctic top, with the idea being to wear it underneath my Weezle in the winter, to keep me warmer... however that plan failed miserably, together they were just far too bulky!

I kinda forgot about my Xerotherm top, but was thinking last week that it might be better to use that instead of the Weezle... at least in some weather, as I guess it'll be a little bit less bulky under the drysuit.

Now my problem... I don't have any trousers at the minute. None of the shops i've been in around here had any of the Xerotherm trousers in stock, so I haven't been able to have a nosey at them.

My question: how thick are the Xerotherm (not Arctic) trousers? Are they fine to wear on their own below a membane drysuit at this time of year? I'm not so worried about getting cold (I have the option of switching back to the Weezle or wearing something else underneath if its too cold), but are they thick enough for it to be comfortable (if you've worn a drysuit in a pool without an undersuit you'll understand the question).

Cheers muchly!

David

Under a membrane on their own they probably wouldn't be enough

As you say the zerotherm and Arctic combination is a bit bulky.

However, 4th Element do something called a "drybase" which works really well under the arctic and isnt nearly as bulky.

personally, I use arctics on their own for the cold months, and just the normal xeotherms when the water warms up a bit. (membrane suit)

my weezle has been in its bag for over a year!

Ah no, I have the Arctic top already, and was thinking of getting the normal Xerotherm trousers - so only one top and one pair of trousers... I'm fairly sure the Arctic top alone will be fine, at least at this time of year, so not worried about combining them.

Ah well, i've had a think and ordered the Arctic trousers, rather than the normal Xerotherms... not much more, and now they'll match my top!
