Press it down and rotate anti clockwise to undo. They can take a bit of effort, although it sounds as though its, er how can I put this, knackered. The latest version of the low profile ones are supposed to be ok, the earlier ones were variable in quality/ability to dump. I'd try and get another high profile one if I were you.

Not if it's the hi profile one, for that you need to (take the valve out of the suit and then) undo the 3 phillips screws.

Assembly is a reverse of disassembly, however it is possible to put the threaded bit onto the 6 pointed star-shaped bit in one of six ways.
The correct way is to line the gap in the thread (it is only a single turn) up with the arrow-shaped marker embossed on the insided of the valve.

I'd agree, it sounds as if a part has worn/broken and I doubt that Apecks will sell spares to a non-dealer. The high profile ones are still about.

Ta for that I only disassembled my low profile one, the high profile has just worked, I assumed they were the same. You learn each day.

I may be wrong...but I think Sitec valves don't fit the backing rubber from Apeks valves....

Apeks Drysuit Valves

Seaskins do Apeks high profile valves for £24 and that includes the postage.
