Stretching neoprene wrist seals

One of my neoprene wrist seals is just too tight for comfort, and ideally would be a few mm or so bigger (i think). I'd like to try stretching it myself in some sort of permanent way.

Has anyone ever done this successfully? If so, how?

I had thought of pushing a bottle through the seal and filling it with boiling water, but i'm not sure this would work.

Any ideas? Anyone know the melting point of neoprene?

Cheers, Al

I normally use a small tin of soup

I stretched a seal on a neoprene suit once that way. Leave it overnight, and then try it, leave again overnight for a bit more etc...

used to keep a tin of beans in mine never did much I ended up cutting it back a bit ata time till it fitted me. The cost of a new set of seals is not much anyway

Cheers guys!

I'll give the tin idea a go. If that fails trimming. If neither works then time for a new seal.

I use a wine bottle - narrow neck helps it slide in and it works just fine. It isn't just stretching the seal over something that helps, it's a matter of stretching then relaxing, on and on and on - they do eventually relax... Good luck.

I used a vingar bottle for the same reason - easier to get in and it did work - left overnight.
