Wet / Semi-dry for kids?

My son is due to start his JOW soon after his 10th birthday (end September) and I must make sure he has the best thermal protection available. As any father who has been in the possition will be aware, the only suits available are 3mm tropical suits which of course, will not be adequate for end of summer in the UK (15 celcius). The best option I have come up with is a 3/5mm hybrid C-Skin from O Three with a open-cell under vest and a stingray undersuit (Stingray® sun clothing & sun suits). The cut of O Three suits has always been good for my son's shape so flushing has not been a serious problem.

Before I invest in the above, has anyone found a different / better solution to keep their boy warm? (Other than take him to the Red Sea, which will happen next year) Thanks.

I have some Flipper youth suits, which are 5.5mm 2 pieces with integrated hood. They're Aqualung suits, and seem to keep small people warm pretty well!

PM me for more details!

My son did his JOW in March last year in a 5mm 2 piece Mares suit and this year my step son (and he feels the cold)has just done his JOW in July wearing a 2 piece Oceanic semi dry farmer john style and long sleeve shorty with hood, on the same course was a young girl wo also opted for a Mares suit. I personally think the Oceanic was a better buy than the Mares and you cant go wrong with O'three they're fab you can also get good deals on C Skins at www.boardridersguide.com
